  • 20 sheets of spring roll skin measuring 20 x 20 cm
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • 200 grams of shredded beef or shredded chicken
  • 2 tablespoons chilli flakes
  • enough cooking oil for frying

  1. Cut the spring roll skin into 5 x 5 cm each, set aside.

  2. In a bowl, combine the shredded with chili flakes and stir until evenly distributed, set aside.

  3. Dissolve the flour with the water in a separate bowl.

  4. Take one sheet of spring roll skin and place about 1/2 tablespoon of the shredded mixture on one end. Fold the spring roll skin so that it resembles an envelope then roll it and glue it using a flour solution. Repeat this step until all the spring roll skins are used up

  5. Heat the oil over medium heat then fry the sumpia until completely submerged. Remove the sumpi when it looks brown in color. Drain and let cool then store in an airtight jar.
