This time we will make pastel cakes with a sweet taste that you can easily try to make yourself at home!

Materials

  • 70 grams of low protein flour
  • 80 grams of instant fried banana flour
  • 3 tablespoons liquid margarine
  • 1/2 teaspoon pandan paste
  • 50 ml of warm water
  • meses or chocolate jam

steps

  1. Prepare a container, mix low protein flour with instant fried banana flour and mix well, set aside.

  2. In a separate bowl, dissolve the pandan paste in warm water, set aside.

  3. Pour the melted margarine and pandan paste that has been dissolved into the flour mixture, make the dough until smooth.

  4. Form the dough into a round shape and then roll it using a rolling pin until the dough becomes thin.

  5. Mold the dough into balls using a plastic cup.

  6. Add meses or chocolate filling and cover the dough tightly.

  7. Press and twist the edges of the pastel so that it looks like a small braid.

  8. Take a skillet and heat the oil over medium heat. Fry pastels until golden brown then drain.

Sweet pastels can certainly be an alternative snack variant for those of you who are already bored with the same choices. The combination of crispy pastry skin and soft chocolate jam, of course, makes the sweet pastel very tempting to eat.

Apart from chocolate jam, you can also use other ingredients to make sweet pastel fillings. Green beans, peanut butter, and cream can be another option to enrich the taste of sweet pastels.
