  • 150 grams of glutinous rice flour
  • 50 grams of rice flour
  • 60 grams of sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • food coloring to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of cooking oil
  • 60 grams of cornstarch to coat the skin
  • 250 ml water

  • 100 grams of peanuts
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of warm water

How to Make Moci Cake

  1. First of all, we make the moci cake filling first. Roast the prepared peanuts until black spots appear then turn off the heat. Once cool, peel the roasted nuts.

  2. Prepare a blender or food processor then puree the nuts with the sugar. After smooth make balls of nuts with a fairly dense texture, set aside.

  3. Then, we start making the moci skin. Roast the cornstarch that will be used for coating the moci, set aside.

  4. Make moci skin dough by mixing glutinous rice flour, rice flour, salt, and vanilla in a bowl. Mix well.

  5. Pour 250 ml of water slowly and carefully. Mix well until the texture is slightly thick and add food coloring according to taste.

  6. Strain the dough into a teplon, add sugar and cooking oil, stir evenly.

  7. Turn on the fire and stir the moci mixture until smooth and cooked. Turn off the heat and let the dough get warm.

  8. Take enough moci dough, flatten it and add the peanut filling in the middle. Round the dough until it feels solid, coat with cornstarch, and the moci cake is ready to be served.
