  • 250 grams jengkol
  • 50 ml water
  • 1 cm galangal, please crush it
  • 1 tbsp ground coffee
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 lemongrass stalk , please crush it
  • Sugar to taste
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Delicious Spicy Jengkol Balado

  1. The first step that must be done is to boil the jengkol that you have provided. Please prepare a pot and put water in it. Bring to a boil.

  2. Then boil the jengkol that you previously peeled and bruised. Boil jengkol along with coffee. Boil until cooked and really soft. If it's like that, please lift and drain it first.

  3. After that, grind the ground spices as mentioned above. You can smooth it by pulverizing or blending.

  4. Next please prepare a frying pan and pour about 3 tablespoons of cooking oil to sauté the spices. Heat.

  5. When the cooking oil is hot, add the ground spices. Stir well and saute until fragrant.

  6. Add various other ingredients such as galangal, lemongrass and bay leaves. Mix well.

  7. Put the jengkol that you have boiled earlier into the spice stir. Stir until evenly mixed with the spices.

  8. Add water along with sugar and salt to taste. Stir evenly.

  9. Cook jengkol until completely cooked and the spices are absorbed.
