Materials

Rice Cake Ingredients

  • 5 tbsp tapioca flour
  • 6 tbsp rice flour
  • 120 ml boiling water
  • 1 tsp salt

Gochujang Sauce Ingredients

  • 2 onions _
  • 3 medium size dry anchovies
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 dried kombu (can be replaced with 1 sheet of dried seaweed)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 3 spring onions
  • 150 grams of gochujang
  • 1/4 tablespoon gochugaru
  • 15 grams of odeng or Korean fish cake or can be replaced with fish balls
  • 2 tablespoons of toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 boiled eggs
  • Oil for frying as needed

How to Make Tteokbokki

  1. First, please slice the onions first.

  2. Next, finely chop the garlic.

  3. Then you can immediately make tteokbokki. Take the rice flour that has been provided. Then roast.

  4. Next please mix it with tapioca flour with salt. Stir the ingredients until smooth.

  5. Into the ingredients please pour little by little hot water. Knead the dough until smooth.

  6. After that, please roll the dough to the size according to taste.

  7. Take a pot and pour water in it. Bring the water to a boil.

  8. Put the tteok that has been made into boiling water and boil until cooked and expands.

  9. If it's like that, please lift and put in cold water. Remove and cool.

How to Make Gochujang Sauce

  1. After the tteok is finished, the next step is to make the gochujang sauce. First, boil the anchovies, 1/4 onion, kombu, garlic using 3.5 cups of water until boiling or for approximately 15 to 45 minutes. If you want the broth to be richer, you can boil it longer.

  2. Next, please strain the broth and heat it again using medium heat.

  3. After that, add the odeng and cook for about 5 minutes.

  4. Please mix ingredients such as gochugaru, gochujang and soy sauce in a bowl. Stir evenly.

  5. Take a frying pan and pour the oil. Heat.

  6. Add the tteok that you have made and cook for about 5 minutes while constantly flipping.

  7. Add sliced ​​garlic and onions. Stir well and cook until soft.

  8. Please add the gochujang sauce mixture. Stir occasionally until all the mixture is evenly mixed.

  9. Add the odeng broth and anchovies, stir evenly and bring to a boil over low heat.

  10. Please stir occasionally until the gravy thickens and the tteok is tender.

  11. Before lifting, please add the chopped spring onions. Stir evenly.

  12. Finally you can pour it into a serving plate. Then add a boiled egg as a complement that had previously been cut into two parts.
